Welcome to the Constructing Autenticidad BIPOC Leadership Program!

Constructing Autenticidad: A Leadership Program for BIPOC Leaders in 2025

Constructing Autenticidad is a collaborative venture between Construct the Present and Autentica Consulting, designed to meet the urgent need for leadership development programs for BIPOC professionals. This six-session initiative was created specifically for Black, Brown, and Indigenous leaders who want to advance their careers while staying rooted in authenticity and community.

Over the course of six months, participants will explore how their unique identities shape decision-making, influence workplace culture, and drive systemic change. Together, we will:

  • Confront and navigate systemic barriers that often limit opportunities for leaders of color.

  • Strengthen your leadership skills, including communication, conflict management, and executive presence.

  • Celebrate the power of solidarity, mentorship, and community networks.

  • Prioritize healing and resilience as essential tools for sustainable leadership.

The program culminates in a community showcase, where participants present solutions to real-world challenges—demonstrating both professional growth and community impact. This final experience serves as a rite of passage, celebrating the brilliance and resilience of BIPOC leadership.

If you are a mid- to senior-level BIPOC professional looking for leadership training that understands your lived experience, or if you’re an employer searching for professional development opportunities for leaders of color, Constructing Autenticidad is built for you.

📅 Applications for the 2026 cohort open in September 2025. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this transformative journey.

Session Descriptions

Who am I?

  • Session 1: Cultivate Relationships: Build relationships with your cohort and deepen the “Why” behind your work. We will also identify current challenges (personal or professional) and define a project for June’s presentations.

  • Session 2: Amplify Our Voices: Center and elevate our voices by actively seeking perspectives that are often underrepresented, fostering a more inclusive decision-making process. We will assess our Community Cultural Wealth and utilize it to identify the limiting beliefs that hold us back.

Who have I been told to be?

  • Session 3: Foster Radical Collaboration: Harness the power of collaboration and collective wisdom to create innovative solutions that address complex issues. Using Helm Racial Identity Models, we will deepen our understanding of how our racial identities intersect with our leadership roles and interrupt white supremacy within ourselves.

  • Session 4: Centering Equity and Justice: Prioritize social justice in leadership by actively working to dismantle systemic barriers and promote equity within their organizations. Using Tema Okun's White Supremacy Checklist, we will examine aspects of white supremacy within ourselves and reframe our relationship to code-switching.

Who do I aspire to be?

  • Session 5: Embrace Solidarity: Discover how solidarity within and beyond your organization can drive meaningful change. Apply what you learned from previous sessions to implement your vision into a solution-oriented plan. We will workshop our challenges and finalize our presentations. We will conclude this session by focusing on liberation, exploring how it fuels innovative thinking and transformative leadership.

  • Session 6:  Peer Power, Purposeful Coaching, and Polished Presentations:  In our final session, we’ll explore the power of peer mentorship and purposeful coaching—the key to lifting each other in spaces where people of color are often overlooked as leaders. We’ll discuss how to harness these skills to build a strong, supportive network that champions your voice and the voices of those around you. You’ll also sharpen your presentation skills, ensuring you can confidently speak and command the room. This session is about amplifying our collective strength, helping you step boldly into leadership with the tools to mentor, coach, and inspire others in your community.
